Wireless Reading Device

13 07 2008

One more thing i fell in love with that i can’t have ! At least not for now.. But soon I hope..
Its Kindle : The New Wireless Reading Device. I’ve always had a problem with books, especially hard cover ones, they’re too heavy and honestly i cant enjoy a good book if am gonna have to feel like am lifting weights whie reading it at night !
I think a portable reading device is exactly what i need..
Here’s a little thing about it ;

“Introducing Kindle ;
Three years ago, we set out to design and build an entirely new class of device—a convenient, portable reading device with the ability to wirelessly download books, blogs, magazines, and newspapers. The result is Amazon Kindle.

We designed Kindle to provide an exceptional reading experience. Thanks to electronic paper, a revolutionary new display technology, reading Kindle’s screen is as sharp and natural as reading ink on paper—and nothing like the strain and glare of a computer screen. Kindle is also easy on the fingertips. It never becomes hot and is designed for ambidextrous use so both “lefties” and “righties” can read comfortably at any angle for long periods of time.

We wanted Kindle to be completely mobile and simple to use for everyone, so we made it wireless. No PC and no syncing needed. Using the same 3G network as advanced cell phones, we deliver your content using our own wireless delivery system, Amazon Whispernet. Unlike WiFi, you’ll never need to locate a hotspot. There are no confusing service plans, yearly contracts, or monthly wireless bills—we take care of the hassles so you can just read.

With Whispernet, you can be anywhere, think of a book, and get it in one minute. Similarly, your content automatically comes to you, wherever you are. Newspaper subscriptions are delivered wirelessly each morning. Most magazines arrive before they hit newsstands. Haven’t read the book for tomorrow night’s book club? Get it in a minute. Finished your book in the airport? Download the sequel while you board the plane. Whether you’re in the mood for something serious or hilarious, lighthearted or studious, Kindle delivers your spontaneous reading choices on demand.

And because we know you can’t judge a book by its cover, Kindle lets you download and read the beginning of books for free. This way, you can try it out—if you like it, simply buy and download with 1-Click, right from your Kindle, and continue reading. Want to try a newspaper as well? All newspaper subscriptions start with a risk-free two-week trial.

Kindle’s paperback size and expandable memory let you travel light with your library. With the freedom to download what you want, when you want, we hope you’ll never again find yourself stuck without a great read.”

Fring for Symbian

13 07 2008

I have always wanted to use Skype on my phone.. So I decided to installed Fring on my E71 which is a client for Skype, MSN, ICQ and other messaging services. whats really awesome about it is the fact that you can use 3G to make the calls, that means international calling just became 100 times cheaper for me! the reasons i didn’t like fring before was the fact that it was only WiFi for the calls, now with this feature and my 14KD per month subscription for data it’s very good way to be connected with people outside of Kuwait as well as saving money when you do that.

Dumbledore is gay?? WTH JK?!

6 05 2008

Ok i know its old news but i ‘ve always been too busy to think about it, and now (that am escaping from the pressure of midterms and all the finals coming up) i cant stop thinking about all sorts of silly things, and what’s bugging me right now is one thing i just remembered hearing about a few months ago. ALBUS DUMBLEDORE was gay? Dont get me wrong, am not against gay people at all, but in the whole book series nothing was mentioned about the possibility of Dumbledore being gay! JK (the author) just blurted it out during a reading of the last book! One fan asked whether Albus Dumbledore, the head of the famed Hogwarts School of Wizardry and Witchcraft, had ever loved anyone. Rowling smiled. “Dumbledore is gay, actually,” she replied as the audience erupted in surprise.
Hmmm,, isn’t Harry potter supposed to be a children’s book? Why the gay character then? I really dont see why she needed to add that. It would’ve been completely different had she said something about it in one of her books but that wasn’t the case. And speaking of her books, the last one “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows” wasn’t as good as i’d thought it would be, which is a shame really.. After the long wait and anticipation, after imagining almost every possible ending to the series, am sad to say i was disappointed with what JK thought of as the right ending.

Just something i wanted to get off my chest

Addicted to your fave show?

I dont really like board games that much, but i just realized that i’ve got almost 6-10 board games just cause its either a “Grey’s anatomy board game” or “desperate housewives board game” .. Etc.. and the problem is, i dont think i even know how to play!
And it’s not just about games, i have all sorts of DH books, Grey’s shirts, Prison break calenders, and the list goes on and on.. It’s weird knowing that you’re REALLY addicted to tv shows.

Here’s a picture i found of my first collection of board games,

  • For MTC, a (9) will be added at the beginning of the number.
  • For Wataniya, a (6) will be added.
  • For land lines, a (2) will be added.
  • For special numbers (starting with 8 or 1) a (1) will be added.

  • Al-Ameri Hospital

    20 04 2007

Unlucky me got sick, again.. this time i was food poisoned probably from the Sushi I had on Wed. which kept me in bed/bathroom from right after work until now and for another i don’t know how long.

so when I felt that I can leave the house I went to Al-Ameri Hospital Emergency … And believe me the word emergency shouldn’t be added next Hospital! here are the greatest things about this hospital:

    1. They have those number which arrange who goes in to visit the doctors, but no one follows the number.. and people are actually mad when someone goes in to the clinic when his number comes up… the look that you see on their faces “You have been here longer than me and you expect to go in before me ?!!”
    2. People that wants to go in to sign a Marathya believe and truly believe that they can see the doctor because it will only take 2 minutes which means patients can wait a little longer.. What doesn’t kill you only makes you stronger.
    3. They have 4 clinics, only 1 of them is open! at 8pm ! there were more than 20 patients waiting outside
    4. The bathroom.. Now thats a classic :
      1. No toilet papers, and that includes both bathrooms; the one in the lobby of the emergency and the one at the room where I got my IV.
      2. Dirty, Disgusting, Dirty, Disgusting, Dirty, And again Disgusting!
      3. You can’t lock them! actually you can’t even shut the damn door.
    5. Doctors are complaining about the management of the hospital. I wonder why!
    6. The receptionist totally believes that his only job is to give out numbers for patients. “and everyone is ignoring the numbers like i said earlier!”

I admit that i got treated .. But they had hard time making the experience pleasant ;)

    Good day people
