So I received a phone call around 9pm today from an unknown number.. i picked up and guess who it was .. nokia in avenues..  he told me that the E71 that I have reserved is available! i’m currently transfering the data from the old phone. and will be using it.. I can’t wait!

The price of the E71 is: 159 KD.

UPDATE:

Now that I have got the chance to try the phone out. here is what I think about it.

• Love the Mode Switch between personal and business.
• as most of the reviews have mentioned. the phone is much faster than the previous E61i.
• camera is pretty damn good .. i’m a little biased because I have never used a phone with a 3+ mp camera, so this camera is good for me.
• Email works just fine.
• keyboard is smaller than the previous one. but perfectly sized.
• phone as a whole is smaller yet fully functional compared to the E61.
• menu is a little different but that can be used to easily i’m sure.
• browser is as good as the previous e61i and better.
• lots of customization possible, that i didn’t get to yet.
• GPS, i need to set this one up.. it should be fun and useful to have.

will add to the list as I get to use the phone better.

The Nokia E71 is finally on Nokia’s website now. I wonder if anyone know when will it be released here in Kuwait, the last time I asked they didn’t know so I ended up getting the E51.

some of the specs of this phone are:

• Front and back cameras for video conferencing.
• 3.2 megapixel autofocus camera
• a-GPS
• HSDPA
• Wi-Fi
• A full QWERTY keyboard
• Exchange support.

Price should be around $540. and I will definitely get the black one. it looks cool.

So on saturday I bought the Nokia E51.. here is what I think about it

Pros:

• Looks nice..
• Maybe because it’s new, but the software is much faster than my previous E61i
• Small for a change
• Decent camera.. 2 megapixel.. nothing serious
• Browser and email are good

Cons:

• Battery sucks
• Headset is annoying as hell.. i’m used to the single ear headset.
• The shinny part needs to be cleaned once u touch it..

It’s a temporary phone until the new E71 comes out.. knowing my luck.. the release will be this week :p

6/10 Device.. definitely not more

The long lasting wait for the E61i has been more than torture to me, I have been waiting for it’s successor for ages now, since i’m in love with the E61i and wouldn’t change it for the world. but now that the specs of the E71i has been leaked and they are as good if not better than what I have expected I will be waiting for it!

if any one know the expected time of arrival for this new baby please let me know.
