Few days ago I was hanging out at my friend’s apartment and he was opening old boxes off all sort of things that he collects (he collects any and everything!!) so he pulls out few editions of time magazine. one of them was the last day of desert storm(Feb 27th 1991)! among other magazines. here are some of the pictures. I think HJ has done great job collecting what he collected… here is list of few things he collected over the years:

  • Post cards (he has MANY !!)
  • Movie tickets that he attended since 1992.
  • Pictures… he has boxes and boxes of those
  • Magazine & newspapers (with important events)
  • Magnets
  • Invitation letters..
  • More, more and alot more!

I was reading Marzouq’s blog zDistrict when I read this post about the article in KuwaitTimes… and I totally disagree with the article. I once wrote about the definition of a blog in a previous post which specifically mentioned that it’s a personal diary.. yes blogs can be for a specific purposes but that’s not why they were created in the first place.

a part from the previous post:

An online diary where people can post messages and others may view and respond to the posts.

Blogs have been a great addition to this society for many reasons such as ..

  1. you see different point of views on political, social, controversial issues and many more.
  2. you hear about events, news, and breaking news through blogs.
  3. the replace therapy (people vent … and they get feedback)
  4. it’s a social network.. it connects people to the world around them.
  5. blogs bring out talents people.

I have to give it to the guys working behind gulf run, they have done an amazing job.

the event was very well organized, alot of participants, nice cars, good service, friendly people.. the whole deal basically.

I feel awful to hear that a Porsche gt2 got into an accident yesterday, and feeling even worse to see a Nissan GTR getting into an awful accident today.

the highlight of the even for me was the car below.. it’s my fav. and don’t get me wrong.. the cars I saw today were out of this world !! :P (but u can guess why)

Homesick: None what so ever. I have friends around, family visiting, I visit Kuwait often. plus alot of work to be homesick.

Work: Lots of work.. interesting working hours as I work between 11 and 7 Monday-Friday, but usually don’t leave until 8 or so.  I’m enjoying work here and I can’t see what makes me change it anytime soon.

Bahraini people: amazing people.. friendly.. kind.. love having fun. can’t go wrong with them really.

Government processes: very slow.. still didn’t get my social security documents even after over a month of working now.

Living alone: it’s nice to have absolute privacy but it gets old after a while keeping in mind that i’m a social person and I like to have people around.

Food: restaurants are amazing over here in Bahrain, i eat out on average 3 times a  week. me and GS are actually cooking more than what I have anticipated. he’s a good cook BTW

Visitors: alot of people visit when they know you live in Bahrain! it’s amazing :P

as I was driving to work.. about leave Surra, some guy decided to leave the U-turn a bit to early to fish tail me.. thats good I got the car back in control before it fully spun.

even though everything wasn’t going my way today I have to admit that the cops have improved alot since the last time I had to deal with them. it took less than 45 minutes from the accident time to the time I left the police station.

Things I love about this place…

  1. very friendly, dedicated and hard working staff
  2. great food.. seriously, the best American breakfast in Kuwait so far.
  3. comforting environment.
  4. nice selection on their menu.

one thing that needs to be worked on.. the location, i believe the location of the restaurant is setting it behind a bit.. and seriously.. that’s the only downside or disadvantage the place has!

Today I ordered the Egg and Turkey ham omelet (with a side of bacon and hash browns) and a pancake with a cup of coffee of which all are great tasting and would have again and again.

a side note… their hash brown is to die for!
