Best Chocolate Cheese Cake ever!

25 05 2008

Today as I arrived from work.. dead tired.. there was a box on my bed…

as soon as I saw that box my face became :D .. I knew it was the chocolate cheese that my cousin/friend promised she’d make! and she was right! so firsts first I sent a msg thanking her.. then I had launch so I can have this for desert!

Those things are amazing! they are the most tasteful chocolate cheese cakes I have ever had in my life! she needs to open a store to sell those..! (not only she’ll make people happy eating.. but she’ll also be the CEO of her own company!)

Definitely the best cheesecake I have ever had. 300/10! .. seriously 10/10

Too bad not everyone reading this gets the chance to try them!

Burger Co.

21 05 2008

I wasn’t sure what to have for dinner today.. so I called my cousin to get a suggestion.. she said low fat, which i liked.. so she tells me go to 6alabat.com for the menu. when I visited 6alabat.com another restaurant attracts me.. it was Burger Co.. first time ordering from it ..

The burgers were ok.. nothing special.. I also had the rocca salad which was also ok.. but then the highlight of the night comes in.. the Twix Milk shake! this is one of the best milk shakes I have ever had in a long long time. go to 6alabat.com and order one.. it’s worth it ;)

Food: 5/10
Twix Shake: 13/10

Sushi, anyone?

7 05 2008

Ok, so i started studying today, finished a whole chapter, but then i was too tired and too hungry to continue, i got to a point where i was reading the same sentence over and over again without having any clue whatsoever as to it’s meaning. It was then that i was “Saved by a phone call”, my uncle asked me and my sisters to go check his new restaurant and try the food. It’s a japanese restaurant/supermarket (I dont know if i can even call it a restaurant cause theres no place to sit, just takeout and home delivery.. but you know what i mean =p) anyway so we get there, the place is amazing.. Small but perfect!

The food was great.. Kinda like maki with less mayo, and a bit like Kei with more flavour to it, and that’s the best part! Of course you’d have to try it a few times before you know what you like best. Personally, i thought “Crazy Maki” was one of the best, and i made sure my uncle knew that. (There’s more but right now, that’s all i can remember :P)

After a couple of hours of “tasting” 20 kinds of sushi, i felt like i just had two dinners, and i decided to head back home, next week enshalla i’ll go there again and try a few more ;p (Ill make sure i know what am eating then =p)

In two weeks enshalla, when the restaurant’s open, you can start ordering from Meli Melo (In el She3ib) and tell me what you think ;D

As for the supermarker, i dont know if some of you remember the “Zero Calorie Sweetner” i’ve talked about before, you can find it there as well (Thank u Ray for pointing that out).

In short, you can find whatever you need to either make sushi, or eat it at Meli Melo! (Ok that just sounded like a line from a tv commercial :P)

Seriously, wait and try it, then you tell me what you think ;D

Home made iced cafe latte

29 04 2008

Unemployment, screwed up sleeping schedule, un-usefulness (not sure if thats a word), and everything that is tied up with being unemployed pretty much results in some weird activities. and today’s activity was trying to make the best home made iced cafe latte. after few experiments.. I ended up with what I call .. don’t worry I was trying to sound like I knew what i’m talking about.

All you need to make your cafe latte up to the standards I have set today is:

  1. Ice
  2. Skimmed Milk
  3. Nespresso Machine
  4. Glass

Steps? pretty damn simple:

  1. Make your self 2 shots of your favorite flavor coffee.
  2. Get a glass filled with ice.
  3. Pour some milk in it.
  4. Drop in the shots.

And now .. you are about to enjoy one of the best homemade cafe lattes ever.

Doesn’t it look priceless?

break-fast.jpg

for the past month or so I realized that I have picked up an old habit that I stopped a long time ago. it’s a good one though, I started eating breakfast again. and looking back at this month it has been always this new cereal “or what I believe is relatively new cereal” that i’m eating. it’s very very good people.. try it.

here is the secret recipe:

  1. Skimmed milk
  2. Fitness Nestle Cereal (its low fat too)
  3. Honey (lots of it)

try it and let me know what you think ;)

Restaurants in Bahrain

12 04 2008

Lately I have been coming to Bahrain more than usual, really.. I have been staying in Bahrain more than Kuwait and obviously that leads to alot of eating out, so I thought I should review the restaurants here:

  • The Meat Co: if you are into steaks then you are in for a treat. their rip-eye steak is out of this world. for me I liked the 300 gram because it’s thinner cut but who have had the 500 said the same thing about it. obviously you don’t go there and order a viggie dish .. appetizers are also good but the main focus here is the meat people.. pay attention! also you want to try the roof top lounge.
  • Coco’s: Very nice seating area, hippie kind of look with all the garden outside and stuff.. the food is ok, I had the club sandwich and it was presented very nicely and it also tasted good but I can expect better quality from them.
  • Cafe Italia: I wanted to leave the best for last but I just couldn’t wait writing about it. this is so far my favorite place to eat in Bahrain. There carpaccio, calamari, and focaccia are amazing orders for starter. I also tried their pizza margarita and the ravioli with wild mushrooms, they are both good. I lean more toward their pizza but that just me loving pizza. The interior of this place is breathtaking, I love modern designs and this place fulfill the hell out of it.
  • Nino: Same shit different country.
  • Lilo’s Cafe: Good, nice to have a a meat when you wake up there. they can be creative with their burgers. also their soups are good.
  • La Cave: French restaurant, food is ok. I had the La Cave steak which wasn’t bad but it can be much better I think. the exterior and interior of this restaurant is nice, they have a nice garden outside that gives a great feeling to the restaurant.
  • Oliveto: Italian restaurant, located in an alley in Adliya, if not for the sign on the street there is no chance of getting to it. food was fantastic, I had the lasagna and it was just amazing with a splash of lemon. I didn’t hear any complains about the food on our table so it has to be one of the best as well.
  • Lanterns: Indian restaurant in located in Budaiya St. .. it’s a nice experience with all the small band playing indian songs from movies and older songer. food is pretty good. worth trying.
  • Trader Vic’s: Chocho, Crab Rangoon and the calamari are good. didn’t try anything else. very nice atmosphere! a must.
  • Mirai: Another restaurant in Adliya, sushi is incredibly good, food is great, and they have a nice lounge area upstairs.
  • Nirvana: Indian restaurant in the Ritz-Carlton hotel. good food and great service. try their butter chicken!
  • Tekka Al-Abul: no idea where is it located, it’s dirty as hell, but man the yogurt tekka is amazing! it’s a downgraded version of Dalag suhail. but again .. those places will leave you speechless!

Zero Calories !

5 04 2008

Have u ever heard of a zero-calorie sweetener? Apparently Stevia (That’s what it’s called) has been used in Japan for more than 30 years as an alternative for sugar.

It is the world’s only all natural sweetener with zero calories, zero carbohydrates and a zero glycemic index. Harvested from a plant in the daisy family, stevia provides a truly delicious and healthy alternative to sugar or chemical sweeteners. Since stevia has zero calories, zero carbohydrates and a zero glycemic index, it is perfect for individuals with diabetes, hypo/hyperglycemia and anyone looking to maintain a healthy lifestyle. The glycemic index, or GI, measures how fast a food will raise your blood glucose level. Choosing foods that produce zero fluctuations in blood glucose is an important component for long-term health and reducing your risk of heart disease and diabetes. By helping you reduce your calorie intake and glycemic index, stevia can be a significant contributor to any healthy weight loss plan.

Today, stevia is cultivated and used in food elsewhere in east Asia, including in China (since 1984), Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, and Malaysia, it can also be found in Saint Kitts and Nevis, in part of South America (Brazil, Paraguay, and Uruguay) and in Israel. China is the world’s largest exporter of the stevia extract, stevioside.

Ive also heard that diet center will soon be using this product instead of their usual sweeteners which is a great deal for it’s consumers seeing as it’s healthier.

Wouldn’t it be better if we just lived in Japan? ;p
