I have been talking to my cousin lately about replacing my desktop with a new powerful Mac pro. so I started playing around with the different configurations on their website and I think I found the setup I want.. Here it is

  • Two 2.66GHz Dual-Core Intel Xeon
  • 4GB (4 x 1GB)
  • 500GB 7200-rpm Serial ATA 3Gb/s (HD bay one)
  • 500GB 7200-rpm Serial ATA 3Gb/s (HD bay two)
  • ATI Radeon X1900 XT 512MB (2 x dual-link DVI)
  • Apple Cinema HD Display (30″ flat panel)
  • Apple Cinema HD Display (30″ flat panel) (Yes two of them)
  • One 16x SuperDrive
  • Both Bluetooth 2.0+EDR and AirPort Extreme
  • Apple Wireless Keyboard and Apple wireless Mighty Mouse - U.S. English
  • Mac OS X - U.S. English

Just imagine this monster sitting on your desk with one extra monitor! I wouldn’t know what to do with it the first couple of days I’m sure :P

With those two monitors, the cost will probably go through the roof!

You might consider getting two Dell or BenQ 24 inchers and save a bundle (or spend it on quad cores, although it’s difficult to make full use them, and are way overpriced.)

I think there’s a BenQ shop here that sells them. Shop is called Matrix in qairawan.

    Food for thought.
