Back to kuwait.. Time goes by so quickly!!
I was with my mother today just talking about almost nothing.. random things were coming up and she notified me about this.. Which tells me how fast time is passing by!
June 18th 16 years ago was the day we came back from Bahrain to Kuwait after the Iraqi Invasion! I can remember that day so good! I remember how dark the sky was with all the smoke from the burning oil! I still remember walking in to my Grandfather’s house with my youngest brother at the age of 7 months and seeing them all there with the biggest smiles I have ever seen in my life when they saw us.. who believes it has been this long?!!
I guess i’m glad that all the bad times are over.. it gives me hope that even if we are facing anything we don’t like in Kuwait it will eventually be over .. optimistic i know … but it’s worth looking forward for

My uncle came to pick me up from the airport (my dad sent me back alone so I won’t miss school)… He was POW and I never knew if I would ever see him again! Well I saw him that day; I remember his smile picking me up!
Skies were as black as the darkest nights would never get!! I remember how people were still afraid but yet so happy it was over!!! I remember how they were different for some years after!
Do you remember the day when it first rained?? The black rain!!! Do you remember how it looked all the people ran out and when we went back in we were all black! But man I remember crying that day from joy! It was bad and hard but yet good and amazing!!!
You brought good memories back to me! I did almost forget my few special moments in the past! Thank you!

funny, i was really young back then.. but i guess these images will stay with you forever..

I remember everything!!! I had 3 of my uncles as POWs and 4 cousins one never came back and my aunt’s husband who also never came back! 
But well it is 16 years ago!!! And some good things came from that!!!

And I don’t think you are fouling yourself… I have met people coming to me and I know by numbers they are over 60 but just talking and chatting with them they are not older than 30!!! It’s how you feel numbers are just there to show that you have got experience in life!

I got stuck on 20 myself, never felt a year older even if it’s been 9 years! So yes I’ll be 2 years older than you my dear!
