Stupid hospitals! walla khama Email This Post Print This Post

May 6th, 2007 by Weld El-Ma6aba | 16

Why would a cancer patient wait 2 or 3 days for the stupid doctors to start the radiation therapy ? even though i don’t understand whats the procedure needed before the radiation, i think it’s only right to start the treatment ASAP!

A very close person to me is currently in Makki Jum’a Hospital in Alsabah because of  cancer, he/she was transferred there yesterday to start radiation therapy (which BTW was supposed to begin on wed.) and until 6pm on Sunday nothing has been done which means nothing until tomorrow… IF SO !!

I have no idea what a person should do to get people treated in Kuwait.. I mean come on, it’s cancer for god’s sake… those people should be more responsible or be forced to be!

Do u think I’m done? HELL NO!

One more thing before i shut-up.. apparently when a patient in Kuwait enters the hospital the age doesn’t make a difference (Kuwaiti hospitals doesn’t have age discrimination.. idiots).. so if you are a 90 year old with a broken leg you will received the exact same treatment as a 18 year old who can support him self better.. (and it’s always rounding down the effort needed!)

First of all, inshala your friend gets well soon o mayshof/etshof shar! But i do disagree with you shweya in regards of people recieving treatment in kuwait. I think hospitals in kuwait are quite good! Im not saying mafehum 3youb, but in comparison to others in well developed countries they are ok. And of course we can and SHOULD improve them! The patient should also be tolerant in some cases, I do not beleive that this is the case with your friend, im just speaking in general. You also said “apparently when a patient in Kuwait enters the hospital the age doesn’t make a difference” Im not sure that this is correct, im sure it all depends in the condition. But what is truly shocking and absolutely racist is that people, in q8, receive better treatment according to their nationalities! At the end, my best wishes ina ur friend gets better nshala.
p.s I hope im right! because i will be working in one of these hospitals soon!!

You made me feel like shit! Those stupid hospitals and doctors never change?? I have been a way for 10 years and the same shit going on??

Because of this post I wrote a post about hospitals in KW on my blog!

I do hope your friend gets the treatment he/she needs ASAP!!

Hasan.B: Please be a good Dr! Don’t change to be one of those stupid ones there!!! I think if KW has 100 good doctors that fight for patient’s rights and treatments…. KW medicine will be changing to be the best in the gulf, sooner than anyone thinks!!!

My mom is currently going through chemotherapy at Makku Jumma. Her treatment was delayed for 2 weeks!! Of course I didn’t actually mind the delay; I wanted them to be sure that is the right treatment for my mom.

I feel that before any cancer patient starts therapy she/he should know:
    1. Exactly what is going to happen to her/his body (side effects)
    2. Why she would have these side effects? i.e. The biological reason of why her/his hair would fall off.
    3. What each pill would do?

Make sure your friend’s doctors explain everything to her/him.

Hasan.B: i actually saw the age descrimination … it’s my grandmother who is in the hospital and they assume she has the power and energy of a 18 year old… it’s ridiculous man… I hope that you and the coming doctors improve whats going on now..

Nora: Thanks alot.. and yes, hospital never changed in the past 10 years at least

Magical Droplet: I seriously hope that your mother gets better ASAP.. matshof shar inshalla…

Marshmallow: el-deera mashya 3ala el-baraka walla… lets just hope the next generation makes the difference..

    Eshda3wa: it’s sad, very sad indeed… and was6a isn’t the problem … it’s the principle … how can u delay a cancer treatment of a 80+ years old??

mishref: i would like to read the article if you can find it…

It seems you have been busy with your friend!! I’m really truly praying for your close friend to get the treatment needed! Keep me posted!

I don’t know if it’ll help for you to know that my closest cousin had cancer and survived!! That was like hell for the whole family!! He is my favorite cousin and I don’t know what I would have done if I have lost him!!!

I knew it was your grandma! You told me that on my blog! But I didn’t know if you wanted for your readers to know! So I kept calling her your friend, witch is not a lie!!! :)

And that’s also why I told you about my cousin! He is one of the closest people to my heart! I don’t know what would have I done if lost him like that!

My cousin was lucky because in Finland everything is ASAP!! And he told me afterwards, that because he had all the family’s and his friend’s support he felt stronger and it made it easier for him!! He even met his wife when he was going through the chemo!!! Now he has a 5 month old baby boy!! :) He went through all that about 10 years ago and we still cry every time we talk about it!

This is why I tell you I kind of know how you feel! And I do hope from my heart the best for your Grandmother!

Stay strong!! :) She needs that from you!
