Al-Ameri Hospital Email This Post Print This Post

Apr 20th, 2007 by Weld el-ma6aba | 19

Unlucky me got sick, again.. this time i was food poisoned probably from the Sushi I had on Wed. which kept me in bed/bathroom from right after work until now and for another i don’t know how long.

so when I felt that I can leave the house I went to Al-Ameri Hospital Emergency … And believe me the word emergency shouldn’t be added next Hospital! here are the greatest things about this hospital:

  1. They have those number which arrange who goes in to visit the doctors, but no one follows the number.. and people are actually mad when someone goes in to the clinic when his number comes up… the look that you see on their faces “You have been here longer than me and you expect to go in before me ?!!”
  2. People that wants to go in to sign a Marathya believe and truly believe that they can see the doctor because it will only take 2 minutes which means patients can wait a little longer.. What doesn’t kill you only makes you stronger.
  3. They have 4 clinics, only 1 of them is open! at 8pm ! there were more than 20 patients waiting outside
  4. The bathroom.. Now thats a classic :
    1. No toilet papers, and that includes both bathrooms; the one in the lobby of the emergency and the one at the room where I got my IV.
    2. Dirty, Disgusting, Dirty, Disgusting, Dirty, And again Disgusting!
    3. You can’t lock them! actually you can’t even shut the damn door.
  5. Doctors are complaining about the management of the hospital. I wonder why!
  6. The receptionist totally believes that his only job is to give out numbers for patients. “and everyone is ignoring the numbers like i said earlier!”

I admit that i got treated .. But they had hard time making the experience pleasant ;)

Good day people

Weren’t you terrified of having an IV put in if it is so dirty and disgusting? I worry about procedures, if no one is taking care of the details.

matshoof shaar..mishref: why not the newspaper as well… i have 2 personal incidents 1. Amiri hospital: i know someone that died from an infection after a surgery.
    2. Addan hospital: i guy was smoking sitting on his father’s bed who was given oxygen at the time.

  12. mishref said:

Oz, Try to be realistic a little bit. What surgery was the deceased having? What’s the mortality rate? How old was he? How was his health before the surgery? etc. etc.

Infection is a common, serious, complication of any surgery and I am sure he was informed about the complications before hand. However, Allah yer7ma.

For Al-Adan incident, well you almost answered yourself. It is the idiot who was smoking beside his father. What shall we do? If he isn’t giving a tiny rats ass about his father’s health how would you blame the hospital for it? There are numours signs indicating not to smoke.

LaLo: eshaaar mayeech thanks.. i honestly didn’t think public hospitals would be that bad… haven’t been in one in i don’t know how long :P and please ma artha 3ala ele yogfoon 3ala el-door… it’s their right !

Mishref: go right ahead.. can’t wait to read it :P… i agree with u about the infection but more precautions would be appreciated in my opinion.. about the idiot who smokes… i think laws should be enforced and penalties must be set for those who don’t obey these rules…

Oz: daaaamn!!! no way man… sorry about ur friend and that kid need to be hanged for smoking in a hospital !
