Cigar? Really?

Oct 29th, 2008 by Weld El-ma6aba | 0

Mr. Alghanim assuring the stability of the bank but couldn’t wait to have his damn cigar until the end of the press release?

Oh and he’s going to be upset if someone talks about options and derevatives .. thats a nice way to set people straight !

1 down … 8 to go ?

Oct 27th, 2008 by Weld El-ma6aba | 3

I’m sure everyone knows about whats happening with Gulf Bank and Im also sure that rumors are going around about exactly what has happened.. we all know it’s the result of forex derevatives positions that that went against some clients (institutional).

what I really wonder isn’t whats going to happen to the bank.. I can see the bank surviving the crisis with the help of the centeral bank, investors, and the government. what I really want to know is this a one time incident that happened or another banks are involved in the same types of transactions with uncredible clients?

The lack of internet

Oct 27th, 2008 by Weld El-ma6aba | 4

You never know how important things are until they are not available.. I really believe that. even though I have access to the internet at work (not full) it’s really weird to go back home with no internet connection available. (i’m not counting the ultra slow internet at HJ & GS’s apartment)

this lack of internet has many many effects on me…!

  1. I can’t post regularly
  2. I can’t chat with my family & friends
  3. I can’t check my email
  4. I can’t kill unwanted time on the sofa
  5. I can’t read news
  6. I can’t check different markets
  7. I can’t.. I can’t.. I can’t..!!!!!

Hopefully within the next 3 days I will have internet connection in my apartment (which is a new post by it self once I get my internet and I have time to post about it from home)

Whats a blog??

Oct 24th, 2008 by Weld El-ma6aba | 6

Lately it seems that some people have missed the true meaning of a blog.. why do I say that? I will tell you why…  lately i have been moderating comment and realized that considerable number of people believe that the comments on any post is a chat room… you will see comments like:

  1. Hello
  2. Hi
  3. How are you all
  4. want to meet 24yr boy?
  5. *and obviously the hate mgs”, either for me or to another “chatter” comment
  6. why no one is talking?

So I figured I should find the available definitions of a blog  on the web and post them incase someone needs more information about blog:

  • A blog is a website where entries are made in journal style and displayed in a reverse chronological order.
  • Online journal. The term BLOG comes from web log.
  • A frequent, chronological publication of personal thoughts and Web links.
  • A blog is basically a journal that is available on the web. The activity of updating a blog is “blogging” and someone who keeps a blog is a “blogger.” Blogs are typically updated daily using software that allows people with little or no technical background to update and maintain the blog.
  • An online Journal
  • An online diary where people can post messages and others may view and respond to the posts. “not chat, discuss is another thing”

I hope this is helpful ;)

Apple MacBook/Pro

Oct 15th, 2008 by | 9

the new apple notebook lineup has been officially released now and it means the time for a new macbook/pro has arrived. The new lineup added the alluminum revamped macbook as well as revamping the Macbook pro (which is sexy).

I have had a macbook pro for nearly 2 years now and it’s getting to the point of requiring a new one (not lack of performance, just excess of hits and scratches). for me now I think the MacBook is the best option.. the specs I want would be:

  • 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
  • 4GB 1066MHz DDR3 SDRAM - 2×2GB (just because I can.. 2 is more than enough i guess)
  • 320GB Serial ATA Drive @ 5400 rpm (I love this! more space for downloads.. the 120 gb I have isn’t cutting it at all
  • SuperDrive 8x (DVD±R DL/DVD±RW/CD-RW) (I need one since my MBP has been so abused that the CD feeder opening has closed.. literally)

it takes guts!

thanks to HJ for forwarding many interesting stories to me lately .. and this one is another one. a blind guy tops 300 kmph in a Lamborghini Gallardo!

Belgian Luc Costermans has broken the world blind road speed record, on an airstrip in France.

Mr Costermans topped 308.78km/h (192 mph) while driving a Lamborghini Gallardo supercar at Istres, near Marseille, in southern France.
Mr Costermans thanked his co-pilot Guillaume Roman, saying: “”I’m very, very happy. It’s a team effort.”
Mr Costermans took the record from Briton Mike Newman, whose BMW M5 reached 268km/h three years ago.
